Each year, the Magnolia Chapter calendar committee produces a native plant-themed calendar. Once a theme is chosen by the committee a call for photos goes out to members and other photographers. Donated photos are sorted and selected for each month by the committee and then arranged in a calendar template by the compiler and sent to the printer. Past themes have included flowers described by an early botanists in the panhandle region with some biographical information on each botanist, flowers showing variations on the ‘standard model’ of flower parts, and plants that bloom mainly or only after fire. Calendars can be purchased at our monthly meeting or by contacting a board member. Members also take calendars to sell at other venues. Funds raised are used to help fund studies of native plants, as well as other native plant conservation projects.
The theme of the 2025 calendar is Endangered & Threatened Plant Species of the Florida Panhandle. Click here for the 2025 Call for Photos word document.
